New Hires at MOFGA

Caleb Goossen has been hired as MOFGA’s organic crop and conservation specialist. Goossen has a bachelor’s degree in plant biology and sustainable agriculture from Hampshire College, and he recently completed his Ph.D. at the University of Vermont, where he studied the fatty acid content of forage crops. He farmed organic vegetables in Vermont for nine years before graduate school. Welcome, Caleb!

MOFGA has hired Karen Stimpson as its grants manager. Stimpson was founding executive director of Maine Island Trail Association and has filled director roles with the Coastal Humane Society and the Maine Federation of Humane Societies. She has a bachelor’s degree in graphic and communicating arts and a U.S. Coast Guard third mate’s license. She has lived on a boat in Portland Harbor for 35 years. Welcome, Karen!
