"Perhaps the most radical thing you can do in our time is to start turning over the soil, loosening it up for the crops to settle in, and then stay home and tend them."
- Rebecca Solnit

 Greenhouses Minimize

There are two greenhouses at MOFGA's Common Ground Education Center. A 16' by 20' greenhouse, designed and built by Ed Person from Ledgewood Farm Greenhouses in New Hampshire, sits just to the North of the Farmhouse, and is used primarily for starting seedlings. A 30' by 72' Harnois greenhouse, donated to MOFGA by Kelmscott Farm, is located just north of the South Orchard. We move this greenhouse once a year, making it possible to rotate crops and improve soil fertility on the outside section of land each year. MOFGA's Journeypersons in residence use the greenhouses for market production.
