Experience the Joy of Learning by Doing at Farm & Homestead Day at MOFGA
The late Joe Dupere, founding member of Farm & Homestead Day, used to say that not long ago, the average person needed to know more practical skills to get through a single day than most people now learn in a lifetime. He and the original rabble (planning team) envisioned a hands-on, experiential event where people from all walks of life could share and learn new skills.
Farm and Homestead Day at MOFGA is now in its seventh year, and we are proud that it stays true to the original vision of a free, noncommercial, volunteer-run event. It is impressive and heartening to see so many people eager to share their knowledge and skills without monetary compensation. Together we recognize that sharing goods and services makes life more joyful and meaningful.
This year, Farm & Homestead Day will take place on Saturday, June 23rd. It will include over 40 unique, participatory workshops. See last year’s schedule here. It includes a plant swap, a potluck picnic lunch, and a stone soup made with your contributions.
As Nancy Rosalie says, “Farm & Homestead Day at MOFGA is a joyful event. Witness the smiles; the proud bearing of accomplishment; the spontaneous music, song and dance!”
