$35 for MOFGA members and $50 for non-members
Please note: this course is very popular and fills quickly.

Designed for farmers and others interested in home-food processing for resale.

Licensing requirements, food safety, and liability insurance will be covered by panel members, including: Dr. Beth Calder, Food Science Specialist for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and Lindsay Werner, Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry. Participants will then tour a licensed kitchen before being served a local, seasonal, organic luncheon.

The afternoon program will include a panel of processors who will discuss the benefits and shortcomings of home licensed and commercial kitchens. Panelists include Jeff Wolowitz of Heiwa Soy Beanery, Theresa Gaffney of Highland Organics, Billi Barker of Enchanted Kitchen at Firefly Farm, and Simon Frost of Thirty Acre Farm.
