As farmers battle weeds ‘conventionally’, the chemical treadmill speeds up
Grist - 7/20/2009.
By Tom Philpott – I’m an ag nerd, so sometimes you’ll catch me reading stuff like Delta Farm Press – a trade publication for large-scale farmers in the deep south. I find the damnedest things on those reading jags. Vaccinating against colony collapse disorder
TreeHugger - 7/19/2009.
By Karin Kloosterman – With the deadly swine flu, bird flu and bee colony collapse disorder it kind of makes you feel like nature is biting back. Some good news for at least one of the big problems: an Israeli company has developed a vaccine against colony collapse disorder, the disturbing syndrome that has been wiping out bee communities and threatening agricultural production all over the world.

Portland Press Herald - 7/19/2009.
Letter by Ken Horn – Did you know that the folks at Hannaford supermarkets are apparently willing to let you eat pesticide? The Maine Board of Pesticide Control has recently approved Bt sweet corn for Maine growers. This means that when Hannaford purchases local sweet corn, it may be Bt sweet corn.
