Organic and Sustainable Agriculture News
Organic Christmas trees in demand
Vermont Public Radio - 12/3/2009.
By Charlotte Albright – Christmas trees have been sprouting in roadside retail stands and "cut-your own" fields since Thanksgiving weekend. That's when Adam Parke was loading his organically grown evergreens onto tractor-trailers bound for New York City. Taking a hot tea break near the woodstove in his cozy Barton kitchen, he says he launched his export business in the mid 1990s, after he got out of dairy farming.

Portland Press Herald - 12/2/2009.
By Avery Yale Kamila – Being a bona fide foodie town, Portland tends to push the envelope when it comes to edible trends. Maine chef lives the dream
Portland Press Herald - 12/2/2009.
By Lawrence Klang – The Island Culinary and Ecological Center in Deer Isle is just getting off the ground, but you wouldn't know it based on the lively crowd of 75 food lovers gathered at the sold-out, first annual Top Chefs Dinner at the home of Peter and Beth Aherne in Little Deer Isle.
