|MOFGA’s 39th Annual Common Ground Country Fair|

On Friday through Sunday, September 25, 26 and 27, the Common Ground Country Fair will again take place at the home of the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) in Unity. Some 60,000 people take part in the annual fair, which celebrates rural and sustainable living in Maine. There are no midway carnivals, fast food or games of chance, but there is plenty of fun and entertainment in an educational context. The fair’s activities are spread out over 40+ acres of well-tended land adorned by beautiful perennial gardens, walkways and orchards.

Biomed Central - Eating a Mediterranean diet or other healthy dietary pattern, comprising of fruit, vegetables, legumes, and nuts and low in processed meats, is associated with preventing the onset of depression, according to research published in the open access journal BMC Medicine. A large study of 15,093 people suggests depression could be linked with nutrient deficits.
