Throughout the year, MOFGA hosts hundreds of meetings, workshops, conferences, dinners and festive gatherings. Many take place at our Common Ground Education Center in Unity, Maine. Low Impact Forestry Workshops

November 14-17, 2019 – Four days of workshops, Thursday - Sunday, MOFGA's Common Ground Education Center, Unity, Maine. A series of workshops designed for stewards of small or large woodlots to develop skills to cut and harvest wood products safely and ecologically. Learn and practice sustainable woodlot management and logging with animals or low-impact machinery.

 

Introduction to Low Impact Forestry
Thursday, November 14 – MOFGA's Common Ground Education Center, Unity
PRICE $125 – REQUIRED PRE-REQUISITE for Draft and Mechanical Logging Workshops
Taught by foresters, soil scientists, and experienced landowners, this one-day introductory field course serves as a great introduction to the philosophy of Low-Impact forestry.

Logging with Draft Animals Workshop
Thursday-Sunday, November 14-17 – MOFGA's Common Ground Education Center, Unity
PRICE $425 – includes all meals & basic accommodations and the required pre-requisite Introduction to Low-Impact Forestry
This four-day workshop begins with Introduction to Low-Impact Forestry, a required pre-requisite for the following three days of instruction in logging with draft animals.
