Our farm and bakery are located in Bowdoinham Maine. There is 5 open acres and 20 wooded acres. We will be primarily growing crops for ours and the bakeries use. We run a bakery, which produces organic whole grain sour dough breads (using primarily Maine grown flour). These breads are distributed from Damariscotta to Scarborough twice a week. This spring we will add a western root and go to farmers market. We will also start to sell retail from the bakery. We harvest all the wood for the wood fired oven from our property. Use of tractor, truck, delivery van and various hand tools. This is a year round apprenticeship. We are looking for you , come work hard, learn, teach, love and eat.

Located in mid-coast Maine within hearing of the ocean 1/3 acre is currently in vegetable and flower production with more added each season depending on the labor available. Production is four season and sold at a farm stand near the farm, on the farm, and delivered to a number of regular commercial customers. Winter greenhouse production is one of the unique and challenging aspects of this farm. A small tractor supports the mostly hand powered operation growing to be a biodynamic farm.

More Info
We are attempting to create a homestead, which is as far outside the money-obsessed economy as possible. Our method is to experiment in traditional (time-tested) modes of agriculture in order to achieve the most healthy relationship between our 13 acres, our family, and our community. We currently have chickens, hogs, a garden, orchard, field crops (small-scale, hand harvested & cultivated), and woodland crafts.

Important note:
Farms participating in the MOFGA Apprenticeship program are not vetted by MOFGA, and a listing on MOFGA's web site does not imply an endorsement. While we try to provide information and tools to both apprentices and mentor farmers to ensure the best possible experience, we do not have the resources or expertise to police Apprentice-Mentor relationships, or to act as arbiters in apprentice-mentor disputes. Participants are expected to do their own due diligence and should not enter into any situation, either living or working, without serious consideration.
