Welcome to the Farm & Homestead Area of the
Common Ground Country Fair!
The purpose of the Farm & Homestead area is to provide an outlet for businesses that cater to the small farm and homesteading market and to sell their products & equipment. MOFGA also welcomes other businesses that encourage diverse interests, making small farms and the homestead more self-sufficient. Area Coordinators have set the following goals for the Farm & Homestead Area:
- to further educate the fairgoers about these products and how they can contribute to the quality of small farms and homesteading in Maine; and
- to accommodate activities, including those not for profit, which are compatible with the area.
The Farm and Homestead Kids Area is a joyous place for kids and adults alike. Here we grind grain, make simple flatbreads, shake cream into butter, make cider, soup and cornhusk dolls. It's all about little things that happen on farms every day that kids can help make happen. From 9 to 4 all three days, stop by and see us!
