"The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of making them changes both the maker and the destination."
- John Scharr

 Maine Stoneworkers' Guild Minimize

The Maine Stoneworkers' Guild has been an important part of MOFGA's volunteer community for many years. Members worked hard to install the beautiful stone sundial on the Common, as well as the two stone planters at the south entrance to the Fairgrounds. The Guild is now raising funds to install a granite archway on the grounds, as well as several landscaped "Pocket Parks" that will serve as comfortable, attractive gathering areas for fairgoers and folks who visit MOFGA's Common Ground Education Center year-round. At the Fair, members of the Maine Stoneworkers Guild demonstrate the art of stone cutting and carving. Workshops for fairgoers young and old take place throughout the weekend.
