Welcome to the Young Maine Area of the Common Ground Country Fair!

Purpose: The purpose of the Young Maine area is to promote farm-to-school connections, school gardens, experiential education and active healthy lifestyles for Maine's youth by providing a setting for organizations and individuals who work with Maine's youth to showcase their programs; network with each other and fairgoers; and present talks, workshops and related activities.

Goals:

-To share ideas and resources that promote farm-to-school connections, school gardens, civic engagement for youth, youth mentoring, youth empowerment, sustainability, traditional arts, experiential education and healthy lifestyles for Maine's youth by engaging and connecting young Fairgoers, parents and educators with organizations and individuals whose work embodies these practices.

-To provide a forum for presentations, workshops, and networking by these groups.

 The application deadline is May 15, 2013.
