Gates open at 9:00 a.m. each day. Vendors stay open until 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Fair goes on rain or shine.
Going On All Weekend
Agricultural Demonstrations -- MOFGA's Organic Crop Specialist and Organic Livestock Specialist answer questions on organic gardening and organic livestock. MOFGA's Certification Services LLC personnel answer questions on organic certification. MOFGA’s Educational Programs personnel discuss their new farmer recruitment, education and training programs. Other exhibitors will be at their booths to answer questions about farming and gardening sustainably in Maine. See the Agricultural Demonstration Booths Participants List.
Animal Demonstrations and Exhibits -- Draft horse, mule, cow, ox, dairy goat, sheep, llama, alpaca, rabbit, poultry and other animal exhibits and demonstrations occur in many areas. Large livestock demos occur all weekend in the Large Livestock Demo Area, Field Plots, Show Ring and Round Pen. Look for interesting animal demos in the Maine Fiber Farms Area. Hayrides happen all weekend near the Large Livestock Area.
Children's Area -- Vegetable garden parade, face painting, nursing/napping tent, arts and crafts, music and FUN for all ages! The Children’s Area of the Fair does not provide childcare.
Country Store -- Buy Fair merchandise, including T-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, nightshirts, note cards, posters, caps and much more.
Entertainment -- Performances are scheduled in the Amphitheater, on the Spotlight Stage and in the Children's Area. Keep your eyes and ears open for roving entertainment.
Fleece Sale and Information --Talk with growers and spinners. Spinning Space -- Bring your wheel.
Folk Arts Tents -- Maine folk artists demonstrate making traditional crafts and practical items used for living in rural Maine. Join us for continuous classes, demonstrations and entertainment in Folk Arts.
Low Impact Forestry -- “Stump to Stickers” ongoing woodlot operations in MOFGA’s woodlot from 11:00 to 2:00. Many demos in the woodlot using large livestock.
Maine Apple Adventures -- Children of all ages and their families are invited on Saturday and Sunday to participate in fun and educational activities, investigating one of Maine’s most delicious and important orchard crops. The Maine Apple Adventures start at the Maine Apple Tent in the Children’s Area!
Native American Area -- Check the Schedule of Events for demonstrations, drumming and singing.
Stone Working -- The Maine Stone Workers' Guild demonstrates stone cutting and carving.
Wednesday Spinners' Tent -- Expert fiber spinners demonstrate traditional and modern spinning, dyeing and weaving techniques using a variety of fibers..
