Second Frost Farm
Second Frost Farm is a small scale, high production, MOFGA certified organic vegetable operation and lacto-fermentory going into our eleventh growing season.
The farm currently has just over one acre of land in vegetable production, including 4 unheated high tunnels and 2 seasonal caterpillar tunnels which allow us to produce nearly year round. We utilize low-till and majority human-powered farm practices as we work towards our vision of improving soil health, building climate resilience and nourishing our community- both on and off the farm! On farm is also a commercial kitchen where we ferment our farms fresh produce into 10+ varieties of sauerkraut. We sell the vast majority of our farm products at the Belfast Farmers’ Market and the Rockland Farmers’ Market where we work with other vendors and the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Market to expand food access in the mid-coast. We are looking for folks to join our small and mighty crew!!
