MOFGA Events \ Farm Training Project Workshops

Weekly events, May through September

Designed to augment the on-farm learning of the farm apprenticeship program, MOFGA’s Farm Training Project (FTP) workshops follow an informal format, usually beginning with a farm tour followed by a presentation on the topic of the day.

All Farm Training Project events are online for 2020 due to COVID-19 safety concerns.

Crop specialist Caleb Goossen, from MOFGA’s Farmer Programs department, and Alex Ethier, MOFGA’s farmer-in-residence of Killdeer Croft Farm, led an introductory course in organic crop farming.

Caleb covered theory and best practices for organic management of soils and crops, followed by a virtual tour of Killdeer Croft Farm to discuss farm plantings with Alex and Caleb.
