Steamed Weeds, Anyone?

June 1, 2018

An article on Fosters.com advocates for a $23,831 Weedtechnics steam machine to control sidewalk weeds. A licensed pesticide applicator is not needed to operate the machine. The University of Colorado/Boulder has three of the machines, and the city of Boulder is buying one, according to the article. The machine would pay for itself in less than two years in costs saved on toxic herbicides, and local businesses could advertise on the water tanks, defraying some cost, or the city could promote nontoxic land care practices on the tanks.
